- LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME FOR RETIRED HORSE.
- I own a Thoroughbred gelding (no papers), 16.0 hands, approx. 20 years old. He is bay with four white socks, star and snip. He has been trained in dressage to 1st level and has jumped 3' fences. He has excellent ground manners and is sensible under saddle, but requires a non-beginning rider. He loads, trailers, clips, trailrides, and is basicly "bomb proof". I have owned him for 12 years and love him dearly but due to a recent career change we are struggling to afford him. I want to find him a home where he can remain retired with a light riding schedule. Due to his long back, he has problems with back soreness if ridden too often or too hard. He requires a narrow tree saddle and special saddle pad. I am looking for someone who has a pasture for turnout and shelter from weather. He will crib if put in a stall.
